This feature is the use of a vertical line to split up the image into different sides with different elements. On the first picture, only the background is visible and is blurry on the left of the vertical line (Which is a string). The right side also includes the blurry background, but what distinguishes it is the focus on the reflection. The reflection is a blurry human figure, and it does a great job to add to the theme of abstract focus and blurriness. In the 5th picture, the vertical line is much more jarring, as it is a thick, bright light. The entire right side of the image is dark and out of focus, which cleverly brings the viewer's attention to the left side. In the left side, a window is present in the distance, and it has a reflection that shows us what the right side of the image would actually look like if we didn't have that bright vertical light skewing with the image. Great creation with that image. I also found image 4's use of two human faces: one on each side of the window, yet both clear due to the nature of glass. They sit on each other and it makes a crazy effect of fading from one face to the other. I found pictures 2 and 3 to have comparatively weak and subdued reflections, and I had a hard time seeing how they tied in to the non-reflective aspects of the image. Everything else was awesome and I appreciated the creativity and shot angles in these pictures!
The angles you shot the photos at definitely gives it an artistic feeling. I couldn't register in my mind what it was and how it was taken right away and that makes it very unique and abstract. I am loving the 5th photo because I can't quite tell what the foreground is in this picture. the blurriness in the light creates a beautiful shape that directs you right at the coffee shop sign. This allows the person looking at the picture to direct their eyes at where you want them to look. Great picture overall!
